Looking for the perfect rustic wedding venue in Suffolk or Norfolk? Then boy have I got the list for you! It may also feature an absolute stunner of an outdoor wedding venue, as well! The wedding locations featured here are surrounded by beautiful countryside and many offer garden areas, lakes and wildlife to incorporate into your photographs.
Living on the Suffolk and Norfolk border, I have been simply overwhelmed with choices of wedding venues. I have been engaged for around 18 months now and while on our search for the perfect wedding venue we have come across some absolute beauties. Narrowing down our options has genuinely been one of the toughest tasks of the whole process. Seriously, give me three weddings instead of one and I would still be struggling.
For all of you engaged couples, I have compiled a list of some of (my) top wedding venues in Suffolk and Norfolk. But as you will very soon be aware, the majority of the local venues are either renovated barns or outdoors! I did find a hell of a lot of hotels but none of them measured up or even came close in comparison (in my opinion) but of course it all comes down to what you are looking for.
Here is my list (in no particular order) of some of the great wedding venues around Suffolk and Norfolk!
White Dove Barns
This wedding venue would make a superb choice for anyone looking to hold their day in a romantic barn setting. This beautiful venue has been converted specially to hold weddings and functions and is absolutely perfect for both intimate and grand weddings alike. The Courtyard and outside areas offer one amazing location and backdrop for your wedding photographs.
The licensed oak bar also features a LED lighting system – to match your colour theme, if you wish.
The Garden Room – 120
Courtyard Room – 120
The Great Hall – 178
Wedding Breakfast Capacity
The Barn – 120
The Marquee – 178
All Manor of Events – Manor Farm
This stunning venue was actually our first choice when we began looking at wedding locations. We eventually ruled it out, but with great regret! Manor Farm features a bar area, a courtyard and dance floor. There are three ceremony rooms to choose from and all offer a unique setting from each other, so there really is a choice for everyone.
Poplar Barn is the perfect rustic setting and can seat up to 80-100 guests, depending on your ceremony type. The open brick design with candles all along the walls was one of the reasons I fell in love with it. The Garden Room is not so much a room, as it is partially outside. Your guests will be seated outside as you and your partner will be within or under a stand that overlooks the countryside. Finally, The Chestnut Barn is usually where the wedding breakfast and reception is held and comes marquee lined all along the sides and roof.
The venue can hold up to a maximum of 350 guests.
This breath-taking location offers one unique outdoor venue to hold your wedding ceremony. If you want to hold your civil ceremony in a peaceful setting surrounded by a meadow and woodland, then this is simply the place for you. The woodshed that stands beneath chestnut trees makes for one stunning venue. The options you have for decorating the area are endless and even leaving it a blank canvas would make for a pretty impressive option! Providing the weather is good, or you come equipped, you could even hold your wedding breakfast and evening reception right there, all around the same area.
Hush Venues can seat up to 160 guests
If you are looking for a rustic countryside venue to hold your day, then this gorgeous open brick designed would make a wonderful place to have your ceremony and reception. In the gardens you have a rose walk, waterways and ponds to use at your disposal. The gardens would make an ideal backdrop for stunning photograph opportunities. Elms Barn comes as a blank canvas so is ideal if you are wanting to dress the area yourselves.
Up to 120 day time guests
An additional 80 evening guests
For 120+ guests there is a option of marquee or tipi
This beautiful open spaced thatched barn would make an amazing venue for both large and intimate weddings. The main barn (pictured above) is typically used for the main function and there are two other rooms to use, if you require. The Long Barn is where the bar area is held and also doubles as a lounge for you and your guests. The third room can be used however you need but I personally think it would do great as a children’s corner. Maybe set up some activities to keep them entertained throughout the day and evening? Or perhaps use it as a photo booth area for your guests to make some memories.
For your wedding night you could book the Blackthorpe House that is situated right next door to the barn. The Georgian House compromises 4 bedrooms that can sleep up to 10 guests. Blackthorpe Barn offer this within one of their wedding deals so it would definitely be worth a look!
