I was tagged by Becki over at The Mum from Brum to do this A to Z ‘All the Things You Don’t Know About Me’. So, here it is!
A is for AM
I’m definitely not a morning person and prefer the evening SO much more. I could very easily sleep in until the early afternoon if you let me!
B is for Bees
One of my worst fears is bees (and wasps), all because they can sting me. Growing up, I would never go into my garden in case there was a bee there. They also ruin the warmer months for me because you see them everywhere, they’re one of the reasons I dread summer.
C is for Cat
When I was little me and my brother got to pick out a kitten. I remember the day we got them, I picked out a cute, little, fluffy, black kitten and I called her Mitzi. She lived for around 12 years and ever since I lost her I’ve been wanting to get another kitten like crazy. One day, when we own a home, one of the first things I will do is get myself a little black kitten.
D is for Dog
Much like the above, I have always wanted a dog and as soon as we are able, we’ll be adding a dog to our family.
E is for Engaged
Jamie and I have been engaged now for almost two years. We always knew it would be a long engagement but hopefully we manage to tie the knot next year!
F is for Freelance
I am a freelance writer and I love it! I never thought I would actually have my dream job and without the encouragement from my partner, I would have never have taken the leap into going freelance.
G is for Goodnight
As the later afternoon creeps in I look forward to 7pm. Why? Because that’s when my little human goes to bed and I can work and then crash on the sofa for the evening. I look forward to working and then that little bit of TV before we go to bed ourselves.
H is for Holiday
We have a holiday coming up in about three months and I can’t wait. We always try to go away on holiday at least once a year and it’s definitely one of the things I look forward to each year. I find myself counting down the months pretty much non-stop.
I is for Internet
I never got the internet until I was around sixteen years old because my parents were afraid of computer viruses. I eventually persuaded them to get it! So unlike other people my age, I completely missed out on the whole ‘dial-up’ thing and never even heard of it until a few years ago.
J is for Joshua
Joshua is my son, he is turning three in September and it’s crazy! I can’t believe my little bubba is turning three years old. While I’m so looking forward to seeing him grow, I equally wish I could travel back and give my bubba Joshua a big cuddle.
K is for Kate Plus 8
Does anyone else watch it? When I was younger I imagined my life to be very similar and having an army of children. While I’m in love with the idea, in reality, just a few is enough!
L is for Legoland
Is it crazy that this is something I’m looking forward to? As soon as Joshua is old enough, we’ll be taking him to Legoland, as he absolutely loves his building blocks and I think he’ll have a great day out.
M is for Music
Growing up, I would lie down in bed and listen to music for around 6 hours a day. Me and my partner occasionally give ourselves ‘me time’ which means we can do whatever we want, alone. I ALWAYS pick listening to music because it’s the only way I can really relax. If I can’t listen to music in bed for a few days, I get agitated.
N is for Nandos
As in, I’ve never been. Well, I sat in one years ago back when I was sixteen-years-old as I waited for my friends to finish, but I’ve never ate in there. Maybe one day I’ll eat in a Nandos to see what the fuss is all about.
O is for Orlando
I’m dying to get over to DisneyWorld and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. One day, we WILL have a holiday there!!
P is for Park
Having a two-and-a-half year old, we seem to spend a lot of our time at the local parks. Joshua loves nothing more than running around and going on slides, so we usually take him whenever he asks.
Q is for Q
Q, is one of the comedians from Impractical Jokers. The Impractical Jokers is one of the few TV shows I look forward to coming back on TV and when it’s on, it’s genuinely a highlight of my week. Sad, right? I’m a working parent, I don’t get out much!
R is for Rollercoasters
I love the idea of them, but in reality I just can’t ever bring myself to get on them. Sometimes though I manage to go on some providing that I start off with the smaller ones first (luckily I have a toddler so I can pretend I’m going on for him!).
S is for Swimming
Much like Becki, I also can’t swim. When I was younger I had lessons around once a week, for 6 years, and they never managed to get me to swim. Part of it was I have a slight fear of water (which is only made worse because I can’t swim – so I’m in a vicious circle). Hopefully one day I will learn to swim.
T is for The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead is my favourite TV show at the moment. Me and my partner tried watching it together years ago but after he didn’t really get into it, we stopped watching it. But a couple of years later, I started getting back into watching it again. Jamie doesn’t know what he’s missing out!
U is for Upside Down
Another one of my fears is going upside down and I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. My first memory of being terrified of it was during P.E. I was around 6 years old, and my teacher asked us all to do a forward roll. I just kneeled down and froze. In the end, my teacher came over and tried encouraging me to do it – but I froze in fear and broke down in tears. I have no idea what scares me about it and can’t remember where it came from.
V is for Value Hot Chocolate
I don’t know why, but I prefer the cheapest hot chocolate that money can buy. If you gave me the choice over Galaxy, Cadbury or Tesco Value Hot Chocolate, I would pick the value option every time. It just tastes better!
W is for Writing
Ever since I was younger, I have always loved writing. Whether it was writing stories, poetry or just tapping at my keyboard until something came out, I would sit and write for hours. I was lucky enough that my Mum bought me a second-hand computer when I was little, we didn’t have internet but I didn’t care, all I wanted to do was write. I remember saving all my stuff on floppy disks and I wish I still had access to them.
Y is for YouTube
I spend a lot of my spare time watching YouTubers/Vlogs. I’d like to do it myself, but I just don’t have the time and I’d be far too awkward!
X is for Xperia
I used to have an Xperia Z1 Compact, until it died on me. It couldn’t withstand any more beatings from my toddler and completely broke down. It was my favourite phone and the one I bought in replacement is by far the worst one I’ve ever had.
Z is for Zoopla
I spend a lot of time checking for houses on Zoopla (to buy and rent) because we really want to move out of where we are at the moment and also, one day, buy a house of our own. So I always like looking at what’s out there.
