YippieYo Crossbuggy Review*

If you’re following me on social media then you would have noticed that over the past few months we’ve been testing out the YippieYo Crossbuggy. I was extremely excited (still am!) to be a YippieYo family member* and be chosen to test-drive the crossbuggy. I never back anything without fully believing in it and it’s an amazing product which I think would be a great addition to a lot of outdoorsy families out there.

Joshua is 3 years old and at that awkward age of no longer being in a pushchair and wanting to walk everywhere but when we’re out for the day, his little legs get tired. Every weekend we tend to go for walks along the beach, woodland and off-road areas. With little legs trying to keep up we needed something that was better than a pushchair – not only because he refuses to go in one but we needed something that would wheel over bumpy paths, go where pushchairs just can’t and do long distances as when we go out we’re usually out for up to 7 hours. In comes the YippieYo.

What Is a YippieYo Crossbuggy?

The crossbuggy reminds me a bit of a wagon (the ones you can hire at holiday resorts or theme parks) and has been designed for off-roading. It’s a two-wheeler buggy with a hand-brake that can sit comfortably two small children. It’s so light to use that even my 3 year old can pull it. It goes along the beach and bumpy roads with ease and pulls up and down curbs without any struggle at all.

It’s perfect for trips to the park, beach, woods and even festivals and camping. It’s also perfect for transporting stuff such as changing bags, equipment and much more.

Who Would Use the Crossbuggy?

It’s absolutely perfect for any family who spends a lot of time going on outdoor adventures but it’s also great for times when you just have a lot of stuff to transport.

We use it for everything, even simple trips out where we have a lot of bags. We recently went to a theme park and decided not to take it but we really wished we had! We ended up carrying a few heavy bags the entire day and our shoulders were killing by the end of it.

The YippieYo Crossbuggy can fit two small children and has been designed to carry up to 40kg. It’s aimed at children as young as 12 months up to 6 years old. The bench has two 5-point harnesses so your child(ren) are perfectly safe and secure and even comes with its own huge bag. Honestly, the bag is amazing and I wish I had it when Joshua was newborn! The inside compartment is pretty big and has lots of extra compartments for bottles, snacks etc.

For the times when you are using it to transport stuff around, whether you’re at a festival, camping or on a daytrip, the seat can be completely folded down to make more room. Not only does the seat fold down but the wheels also pop off easily which is great for fitting it into car boots.

Our Verdict

Our family love it! We love nothing more than getting outside and just going on an adventure so it is perfect for us.
