Declutter with eBay | AD*

In our house, we have two massive problems. A small house and a lot of stuff, especially children’s toys! It seems like I’m having a huge clear-out every month when it comes to toys, clothes and random bits & bobs that Joshua has collected over the last few weeks. Anyone else noticed that their kids’ stuff seems to multiply by themselves? Perhaps it’s that weekly shopping trip with Nana that does it!

But it’s not just children’s stuff that I’m looking to clear-out, it’s bits & bobs that we just don’t use anymore and it’s all in far too good condition to chuck away. We’ve had a huge pile (I say pile, it’s the entire dining room!) of stuff ready for when we can do a bootfair, but the weather is now far too cold and wet for that.

I haven’t sold on eBay in years, so I decided it would be perfect for selling all of the stuff that others could put to great use. eBay is one of the first places that I go to for finding some brilliant items and I’ve recently bagged myself a Christmas t-shirt that I wore at BlogOnXmas last weekend and the Vtech Kiddizoom camera!

I gathered a few of the items that I wanted to sell first and took photographs for the listing, making sure that I got it from different angles to show off the condition and item perfectly. I used my Samsung Galaxy to take the photographs to then added them onto the listing using the app.

After I took the photographs, it was so easy to upload them and finish the listing using just a few simple steps on the eBay app. I made sure to put as many keywords (words that you would use to search for items) into the title – it’s always great to use the colour, brand and style. I then wrote a detailed description for the potential buyers and decided on a starting price for my auction style posts and a fixed price for the others. After sorting the postage, all I had to do was click ‘done’ and my listing was now live!

I initially listed my items for seven days and was notified whenever a buyer placed a bid, purchased my item or asked a question. I even had a buyer negotiate a price which was very easy to do with the mobile app. I could also check activity and whether payment had been sent very quickly.

We’ve decided to put any money that we make towards our holiday that is coming up next month.

Are you thinking of having an Autumn declutter?
