With Christmas just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about presents! With the current pandemic, online shopping has become the place to order all your Christmas gifts. If you’re anything like me, then you’ll be loving online shopping. I have been spending a few days looking into small and local businesses to support during this time. Not only do we love supporting small businesses, but we focus on either handmade or personalised. We try to put that extra thought into our gift giving.
Every year, we always gift some foods – from homemade candycane vodka, gingerbread gin, to mince pie cookies. We have often gifted edible treats because who doesn’t enjoy indulging themselves at Christmas?
We live in Suffolk and a lot of our family live 3.5+ hours away. This means that we don’t get to visit them much but we always make sure to send down some gifts around Christmas. This is what makes Bakerdays the perfect place to order gifts that get sent straight to their door.
When I had a look on the Bakerdays website I was impressed by their range of designs, sizes of cakes, and flavours that you can choose from. I had a choice between traditional sponge, lemon drizzle, chocolate chip, fruit. And even a dairy free sponge and gluten wheat free sponge.
Once I was asked to review one of their Christmas designs, I had a good look at all their other ranges on offer. Bakerdays have so many options available and they really do cater for all occasions from birthdays, Valentine’s Day, to sending one ‘just because’. What makes their cakes even more special is that your can fully personalise your cake with text and images.
I chose their Santa design in chocolate chip and this cake costs £14.99, and includes delivery. With their super speedy delivery, you don’t have to worry about it reaching your loved one in time. Even if it’s ordered last minute. I ordered my cake on Monday and it was delivered to me on Wednesday! Amazing!!
I was slightly worried about how my cake would survive the post, after all I’ve had furniture and car seats damaged that are much less fragile. But the letterbox cake came well packaged and secured inside a lovely tin. We also got a little Christmas cracker too!
Removing the cake from the tin couldn’t have been easier. It even came with a pull tab so I didn’t damage the cake. The letterbox cake is 5” in diameter and easily gives you 4 portions, if you plan on sharing! (I won’t judge you if you don’t).
The cake itself was lovely, moist, and very tasty. In fact, my chocolate-hating partner went in for a tiny slice but soon came back and ended up diving in for half!
Overall, I’m genuinely impressed with the quality and the service that I received. If you are planning on sending a special gift this year, you can find more information on their website.
*Disclaimer: Bakerdays kindly sent me a Letterbox cake in return for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
